CORONA VIRUS - Decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia

The Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted on 15th March further measures aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in our country.

The borders of the Republic of Serbia are closed to all foreign nationals, with the exception of diplomats accredited in Serbia and foreigners with a residence permit or permanently resident in Serbia. 

These measures do not apply to:

- crews of freight motor vehicles when performing international road transport. In the case of international road traffic burden, the stay is limited to a period of no longer than 12 hours from the moment of entry into the territory of the Republic of Serbia

- crew of freight ships carrying goods into one of the domestic ports. In the case of transit sailing on the international water road on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, it is limited to a period of no longer than 90 hours for ship's supply and 60 hours for self-propelled vessels from the moment of entering the territory of the Republic of Serbia in the event of water sailing. In the case of down water, the stay in the waters of the Republic of Serbia is limited to the period not longer than 72 hours for ship's supply and 54 hours for self-guiding vessels from the moment of entry into the territory of the Republic of Serbia

- driving staff of railway vehicles entering the zone of border stations established by intergovernmental agreeements

- crew and cabin staff of aircraft whose ultimate destination is the Republic of Serbia or in transit through international airports of the Republic of Serbia

- persons who received the consent to enter the Republic of Serbia from the government's wording body, consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Health, the MInistry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior Affairs and the MInistry of Contruction, Transport and infrastructure

- humantarian convoys mandatory escort previosly arranged through diplomatic channels

- accredited members of diplomatic and consular representations and members of international organisations as well as their family members who are in possession of special ID cards i.e. ID documents issued by the MFA of the Republic of Serbia and the General Secretariat of the Government of Serbia

- foreign nationals with residence permits (both temporary and permanent) in the Republic of Serbia.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

It is recommended that citizens of the Republic of Serbia staying abroad should postpone any travel to the Republic of Serbia that is not necessary unitl further notice, especially if they are planning to come from countries or areas with intensive transmission of COVID-19 disease.

The citizens of the Republic of Serbia coming from the countries or areas with intensive transmission of the disease COVID-19, or the focus of the epidemic, namely: Province Hubei - People's Republic of China, city Deagu and Province North Geyeongsang in the Republic of Korea, Swiss Confederation, Republic of Italy, Islamic Republic of Iran, Romania, Kingdom of Spain, Federal Republic of Germany, French Republic, Republic of Austria, Republic of Slovenia and the Hellenic Republic are required to carry out a mandatory 28 day self-isolation measure.

The citizens of the Republic of Serbia who enter the Republic of Serbia from the other countries, will be placing in 14 days-isolation in the home conditions (under the health supervision).

Uppon arrival in the Republic of Serbia, citizen will be handed a binding solution. The implementation of the aforementioned measures will be strictly controlled, and any failure to comply with them will be strictly sanctioned by the prescribed penalty.

In light of above mentioned, starting from March 16th, the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Mexico will not accept and consider new visa applications from foreign nationals, for entry into Republic of Serbia until further notice. For those who already have applied for a visa - a visa may be issued after the end of the current situation.
